MQTT Easy - Terms of Use

Last updated 11 October 2026.

These terms apply to the MQTT Easy app. By installing or using the app you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.

1. Who we are

MQTT Easy is published by Techdotrom Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales (company number 16833480). Registered office: 4 Porters Wood, Petteridge Lane, Matfield, Tonbridge, TN12 7LR, United Kingdom. You can contact us at support@techdotrom.com.

2. Your licence

We give you a personal, non-transferable licence to install and use the app on devices you own or control. The app and everything in it remain our property. You may not copy, resell, or reverse engineer the app, except where the law allows it.

3. Using the app responsibly

MQTT Easy connects to MQTT brokers and can publish messages to them. You must only connect to brokers that you own or have permission to use.

A published message can switch or change equipment that is listening for it. You are responsible for every message you publish and for what it does. You are also responsible for how you use the app and for complying with the law where you are.

4. What the app does and does not promise

The app is a tool for viewing and sending MQTT messages. What it shows depends on your phone, your network and the broker, so messages may be delayed, missed or shown incompletely, and a connection may drop without warning. The app is not designed for safety-critical monitoring or control, and you should not rely on it as your only means of monitoring or controlling anything where a failure could cause injury, damage or loss.

The "Allow self-signed certificate" option turns off the check that confirms which broker you are connected to. Use it only for brokers you trust.

Apart from what these terms and the law require, the app is provided "as is" and we give no other warranties or promises about it.

5. Our liability to you

Nothing in these terms limits or excludes our liability where it would be unlawful to do so. This includes liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, and for your legal rights as a consumer.

Subject to that:

If you use the app in the course of a business, all terms implied by law are excluded as far as the law allows.

6. Your rights if you paid for the app

If you are a consumer and the app is faulty or not as described, you have legal rights. Refunds for purchases are handled through Google Play under its refund policy. If Google Play cannot help, contact us and we will put it right or refund the price you paid.

7. Privacy

The app collects no personal information. See the Privacy Policy.

8. Changes and updates

We may update the app and these terms from time to time. The current terms are always on this page. We may stop providing the app at any time.

9. Law

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. If you are a consumer living elsewhere in the UK, you may also bring a claim in the courts where you live.
